Hanseshwari Temple and Ananta Basudev Temple Bansberia

Banshabati Royal Family – The period of Hanseshwari temple dates back from 1801-1814 AD. The construction of temple is based on the system “Satachakra” (6 Chakras of Human Body). The temple has 6 Floors symbolically representing 6 Chakras according to Tantric Philosophy (Muladhara to Agnya). The temple is 70ft high and has an unique structure. The towers resembles Lotus symbol of peace and spirituality. The divine mother Hansheswari seated with her left foot folded and the right hanging at a little distance from the chest of Lord Shiva. From the heart of Lord Shiva is a full blown Lotus on which Devi is seated. She is worshiped in the form Dakshina Kali. Raja Nrishingha Dev was a devotee of Devi and he is the pioneer of all the plans he made of this unique creation. Before his death he made all arrangements and visualization of the temple and devi form. Devi is created of Neem Wood. Kailashdevvson of Raja Nrishingha Dev took the responsibility along with Queen Shankari and completed the temple which still resides with Glory.

Ananta Basudev Temple : Build by Raja Rameshwardev in 1679 of Lord Vishnu. The temple is an unique piece of architecture made of scalded soil decorated with terracota works. Its beside Hanshewari Temple and both this temples are a marvelous piece of work by the Bansbati Royal Familty.

Travel Route : Take Howrah-Katwa Local and get down at Bansberia Station after Bandel Junction take a rickshaw and you will reach within 7-8 minutes thats the easiest route to travel.
